Volunteer participation is critical to the success of Taste of Health and to so many of the activities and events that Earthsave Canada hosts. We would love to put your enthusiasm, experience and expertise to work in ensuring that the 11th annual Taste of Health is the best one yet.
The planning for TOH 2009 is now taking place and we have a number of volunteer openings to fill, for both volunteer leads and general volunteers in various areas. See below for some of the many volunteer opportunities for prior to, during and after the event.
Pre-event volunteer opportunities include:
- Social Media Team to create and implement a strategy to promote TOH through social networking site (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Blogs). This will include postering, distributing handbills, and generating a buzz on the internet.
- Promotions Team to organize postering and media outreach for TOH
- Information Booth Volunteers to staff our info booths at events in the Vancouver area to promote TOH and Earthsave in general.
- Drivers to transport people & supplies to the event.
- Admissions Coordinator to organize admissions materials, tickets, cash boxes, show guides, etc.
- Green Coordinator to ensure that TOH has recycling, garbage pickup, composting and is as green as it can possibly be.
- Workshop Co-ordinator to organize materials, equipment and volunteers for workshops.
Volunteer opportunities during Taste of Health include:
- General set-up and clean-up of the event – tables, draping, signage.
- Stage Team – help out with logistics for cooking demos, workshops, guest speakers
- Admissions personnel to will call and information.
- Green Team to maintain & manage recycling/waste, cleaning.
- Ushers/Floating volunteers to assist with any unanticipated needs that arise, hand out information materials, answer questions.
- Earthsave Ambassadors to speak with the public about the environmental, ethical and health consequences of their food choices.
- Bookstore – Set up, assist with book selling, handle cash & inventory.
- After Show Support for survey follow up, thank you letters, organizing.
